Avery Thorn, Pastor
Avery has served as the pastor of Chalybeate Baptist Church since March 2025. He grew up in Belmont, MS. Before becoming pastor at CBC, he served for four years in Tupelo as a family pastor. He has degrees from Blue Mountain Christian University and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is also pursuing a degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is married to Page Thorn, and they have two children.

Deacons
Deacons serve in a vital role. The word diakonos (deacon) in the New Testament simply means servant. Deacons are qualified to serve through their godly example, as shown in 1 Timothy 3:8-13. They have been called by Chalybeate Baptist to help carry out the functions of the church, especially practical matters. Our deacons meet regularly to plan for meeting the church needs, but they serve constantly in the church, as well as their lives and homes.
